As a core value of the coworking movement, accessibility means that a coworking space should be physically, financially, and culturally accessible to anyone who opts to work this way. Shecosystem strives to create low barriers to membership and to provide a workplace that is accessible to ALL women. But for working women, there is much more to accessibility than that.
Accessibility is a value that hits home for women thanks to a history of barriers in the workplace. Feminist movements demand equitable access to power - not only for women but for all groups who suffer from exclusion and marginalization. For working women, this entails both systemic and cultural shifts - from changing policies to enable us to care for families while advancing our careers, to supporting women seeking access to capital, to opening up the Old Boys’ Club culture that exists in many workplaces.
Shecosystem’s aim is to make success in business accessible for our members by providing mentorship, a supportive culture, visibility, learning, and funding opportunities. By building a thriving and diverse ecosystem, we provide access to the people and resources that you need to succeed. In addition, our commitment to making wellness a part of the workday creates increased access to the kind of holistic wellbeing that allows women to be their best, in life and in business. We do this by offering convenient access to onsite wellness facilities and practitioners, but more importantly, by creating a culture where taking time to care for oneself is good business strategy.
Finally, at the heart of the feminine paradigm is the idea that wisdom and mastery are accessible to each and every one of us. It’s not about degrees, certifications or ego driven benchmarks; it’s about tapping into your inner guru. You are your own best teacher, and all you need to do to access a wealth of wisdom is to connect with your authentic self, to tune in to and express your soul’s voice. Shecosystem is committed to empowering women to access and value our inner resources. We welcome expertise from the margins. We celebrate the stars who have never had access to a stage and invite you to sing your unsung song in a safe and accessible space.
