[External Event] Bill 148 – Tackling the Implications on Business Owners and their Bottom Line

The introduction of Bill 148, the Fair Workplace, Better Jobs Act 2017 will increase minimum wage to $14.00/hour in January 2018 but there are many more costly changes that will be impacting Business Owners and their businesses.  In this interactive session, you will:

1. Learn about the proposed legislative changes on:

  • Minimum Wages
  • Equal Pay for Equal Work
  • Employees vs Independent Contractors
  • Vacation
  • Increases in Leaves of Absences
  • Increased Penalties for Non-Compliance
  • Increase to number of ESA Officers monitoring compliance

2. Understand the risk and implications to your Business and your Business Success – on your employees, work culture and your business operations.

3. Identify problems and solutions to address how you will become compliant with the proposed changes.

In this session, we will talk about actions you should be taking at your company to mitigate risks and gain compliance.  We will also discuss changes in your business operations that might take place to address the impacts on employees, work culture, sales and profit.
