It’s MY MOTHER F*ing Business! Motherhood + Personal Choice

March 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for a circle of sharing, mindful and critical conversations around motherhood and personal choice.

In this second of Shecosystem’s It’s My Mother F$#%ing Business series, we will focus on the choices we make around how, when, and whether to become mothers, including:

  • Balancing personal choice and external pressure around motherhood
  • Making choices around birthing, fertility, and adoption
  • Choosing to become a mother at any age, with or without a partner
  • Choosing to not become a mother

We’ll create a brave and safe space where we can talk honestly about motherhood and the tensions between our individual identities and the social contexts we inhabit. Through a guided mindfulness exercise, a talking circle, and critical reflection activities we will reflect on our own experiences, assumptions and fears and create a supportive circle of deepened connection to what feels right for us and our lives.

We welcome perspectives from women identified people who are:

  • Thinking of becoming mothers but hesitant about what that means for you career, finances, relationships, politics, and other facets of your identities
  • Mothers of children of any age who have confronted these decisions
  • Anyone else who is struggling with these tensions
