Wind down from a long week with a nourishing Yin Yoga class

Yin is a style of yoga that supports longer-held postures focusing on deep stretches mainly in the lower body and spine while targeting the connective tissue. This class will aid in joint mobility and flexibility as well as create a space for a mindful and meditative practice.

Props will be made available for this class.

Suitable for all levels and supports bodies healing from injury.


 

This class is taught by Shecosystem’s Yoga Teacher in Residence, Samantha Warren.

Sam is a Holistic Wellness Professional specializing in The Art of Slowing Down. Living in a time of constant chaos and busyness, Sam often explores what it truly means to slow down, de-stress and find your joy in life again. Her philosophy is that living a busy life is OK so long as you take some time to step away from things and connect back to yourself.

To help restore, rejuvenate and relax the mind, body and spirit, Sam uses various modalities including yoga, reiki, acupressure, mindfulness and meditation. Her classes are centered around the breath, connecting back to Self, and finding the sweet spot of relaxing with a smile on your face

Samantha has over 300 hours of yoga training and loves guiding individuals in the journey of Yoga Nidra and meditation.

Mindful Mondays: Mind, Body & Soul

Start your week off on the right foot with Corinne Clapham’s Mindful Mondays.

This unique one hour yoga class: Mind, Body & Soul with be filled with fun Yoga, Meditation & Mudras to nourish all three aspects of Mind, Body & Soul.

Yoga at Shecosystem – Mondays and Fridays

It can be hard as an entrepreneur to find the time to get to the studio for a yoga class, so we’ve brought the yoga studio to your workspace. 

Shecosystem now offers two yoga classes every week for members and the public. Our Hatha class on Monday will get your week started right, and our Friday Yin Wind Down will help you let go and flow gracefully into the weekend.

Gentle Hatha Yoga: Mondays @ 5-6PM

Gentle Hatha is an all levels practice to calm the nervous system by focussing the mind and body on the present moment. Class consists of yoga postures that are held for longer periods of time allowing your body to settle into each shape. There is a focus on breathwork and meditation throughout class.

Suitable for all levels.

What is at the heart of your business?

Slowing down, taking time out and connecting back to yourself, and mindfulness

 

Why did you join a women’s coworking and wellness community?

A community of like-minded women that create, share, collaborate and love together in a wellness capacity is incredible and needed in our culture

 

What do you wish to give and/or receive from this community?

I want to hold space for women to chill out, connect and breathe; and in return a community where we can laugh, cry, love, and share in beautiful warming memories

 

What does thriving look like for you?

Living by my values, authenticity to myself, connection to self, others and nature, taking risks as scary as they can be and a daily practice of gratitude

 

Shecosystem’s core values are: openness, community, collaboration, accessibility, sustainability, feminism, and wellness. Which of these resonates most with you and why?

As a wellness practitioner I have to say I resonate with wellness the most (haha) since without a personal wellness practice in our lives we wouldn’t be able to thrive in our everyday lives. Burnout, exhaustion and related illnesses are due to us not taking http://genericsing.com care of ourselves mentally and emotionally, and possibly physically. A wellness practice provides us with the time and space to fill up our internal gas tank so that we can continue to give to others without running on empty.

 

Tell us one way you integrate self-care into your working life:

Self-Care is part of my job description! Dancing and/or laughing breaks, a walk in High Park or down the side streets in my neighbourhood, green juices & rooibos tea, meditation and moments to reflect.

 

What’s your top piece of advice for other women entrepreneurs?

Give yourself permission to take time out for yourself everyday. Even if it can only be for 5 minutes while you dance your heart out or sing at the top of your lungs to your favourite song.
